STATE ACCOUNTANT: FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

Job Overview

The Western Cape Mobility Department is hiring a State Accountant: Financial Accounting (Level 08) based in the Western Cape. Requirements include a 3-year National Diploma or B-Degree and at least 1 year of relevant financial accounting experience. Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 1-year relevant experience in a Financial Accounting or related working environment
• Knowledge of Legislative framework governing the Public Service
• Knowledge of Public Service financial legislations, procedures and processes, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions, and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), 1999
• Knowledge of general information support systems such as PERSAL, LOGIS and BAS
• Proven computer literacy
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Aptitude for figures and accuracy

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide effective and efficient expenditure and payment services
• Provide bookkeeping and financial reporting services
• Provide Credit control services
• Perform managerial and supervisory functions
