STATE ACCOUNTANT: COST MANAGEMENT (ELSENBURG)

Job Overview

Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year National Diploma on NQF Level 6 (equivalent or higher qualification) in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field
• A minimum of 1-year relevant experience in management accounting, budgeting, or a financial project management environment
• Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations
• Knowledge of management accounting principles (budgeting, monitoring and reporting)
• Knowledge of government financial systems (e.g. BAS, LOGIS, SCOA)
• Knowledge of applicable legislative, regulatory and governance frameworks
• Knowledge of financial analysis, data management and reporting methodologies
• Skills in financial analysis and reporting
• Skills in budgeting and forecasting
• Computer literacy (intermediate or advanced MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)
• Numeracy and analytical thinking

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide Budget Planning and Preparation
• Provide Budget Support and Financial Control
• Calculate Adjustments Estimate and Main Budget Development
• Maintain Financial Governance, Compliance and Stakeholder Support
• Perform departmental detail monthly reporting to detect incorrect/misclassification of SCOA allocations
