Job Overview

The Office of The Head Of Department is seeking a Registry Clerk based in Bloemfontein (Ref No: PWI 13/26) with a salary of R237 453 per annum (Level 05). Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide registry counter services and attend to clients
• Handle telephonic and other enquiries received
• Receive, register, sort, and dispatch incoming and outgoing mail and hand-delivered files/correspondence
• Distribute notices on registry issues
• Render an effective filing and record management service
• Open and close files according to the record classification system
• Perform filing, storage, tracing (electronically/manually), and retrieval of documents and files
• Complete index cards for all files
• Operate office machines in relation to the registry function
• Open and maintain franking machine registers, frank post, record money, and update registers daily
• Undertake spot checks on post to ensure no private post is included
• Lock post in postbags for messengers to deliver to the Post Office
• Open and maintain remittance registers, record valuable articles, and hand deliver/sign over remittances to finance
• Send incorrect remittances back to sender via registered post and record reference numbers
• Keep daily records of the amount of letters franked
• Process documents for archiving and disposal, including electronic scanning, sorting, and packaging of files
• Compile lists of documents to be archived, submit to the supervisor, and keep records for archived documents
