SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PRACTITIONER: DEMAND MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Job Overview

The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government, is hiring a Supply Chain Management Practitioner: Demand Management Services under reference DSD 82/2026. This Level 08 position offers a salary between R413 001 and R486 501 per annum. Candidates must possess a relevant 3-year post-school qualification in Financial Management, SCM Policy Development, or Law, along with at least 3 years of related SCM experience and a valid code B driving license. Key duties include compiling annual procurement plans, developing commodity sourcing strategies, and creating standardised specifications. Shortlisted candidates will undergo pre-entry assessments.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Relevant 3-year post school qualification in Financial Management, SCM Policy Development, or Law
• Minimum of 3 years related supply chain management experience
• Valid code B (or higher) driving license (People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply)
• Working knowledge of Policy Development, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury Regulations (NTR’s), and Provincial Treasury Directives / Instructions (PTI’s)
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing, preferential procurement / Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), and SCM regulations
• Computer literacy and familiarity with SCM Systems
• Strong analytical, operational, communication, planning, and organisational skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Compile annual procurement plan and progress reporting
• Develop commodity sourcing strategy
• Develop standardised specification and terms of reference
• Facilitate records and information management of the Division
