ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: ACQUISITION AND CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

Job Overview

Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Supply Chain Management
• Knowledge of and working experience with legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices bearing on line functions
• Knowledge and understanding of procurement and tendering processes
• Knowledge and understanding of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act (BBBEE)
• Knowledge and understanding of Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and associated regulations
• Knowledge and understanding of Public Service Anti-corruption Strategy
• Knowledge and understanding of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury Regulations, and Provincial Treasury Instructions
• Knowledge and understanding of contract management, supplier management, and strategic sourcing
• Skills in Numeracy, Literacy, Computer Literacy, Language, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, and Audit

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate, review and execute the bidding process in the Department
• Coordinate, review, and compile the list of prospective providers for quotations
• Coordinate, review and source quotations from database according to threshold values determined by National Treasury
• Supervise, monitor, analyse and determine actions to ensure proper contract management and administration in the component
• Perform managerial functions
