HEAD OF CORPORATE SERVICES (VARIOUS REGIONS)

Job Overview

The Western Cape Government Department of Social Development is seeking a Head of Corporate Services (Various Regions) under reference DSD 79/2026. This management position offers a salary between R932 292 and R1 098 195 per annum (Level 11). Applicants must possess a 3-year qualification in Public Finance, Accounting, or equivalent, alongside a minimum of 3 years of middle management experience. Key responsibilities include overseeing financial management, supply chain management, logistical services, asset safeguarding, and people management. Shortlisted candidates must undergo pre-entry practical and ethical integrity assessments.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A 3-year qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree in Public Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent)
• A minimum of 3 years' middle management experience
• Knowledge of and working experience with legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies, and best practices
• Knowledge of public finance, human resources, and discourse management processes
• Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National and Provincial Treasury Regulations
• Understanding of Labour Relations legislation and regulations
• Proficiency in financial administration systems (LOGIS / BAS / IPS system)
• Knowledge of asset management, infrastructure, health and safety management (OHS), and fleet management

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management processes including budgeting, reporting, financial administration, revenue management, expenditure, and accounts in the region
• Lead Supply Chain Management encompassing demand, acquisition, contract, logistics, and disposal management
• Maintain and safeguard regional assets and direct the management of logistical services within the region
• Plan, manage, and account for the overall performance of the Sub-directorate
• Manage people and financial resources of the Sub-directorate
