Job Overview

NWPG is seeking a Hardware Technician in Vryburg (Reference: NWP/OOP/2026/46) with a salary of R338 106 per annum (Level 07). The role requires a 3-year tertiary qualification in IT (NQF level 6), 2-4 years of IT support experience, and a driver's license. Responsibilities include providing day-to-day ICT technical support, maintaining hardware and network infrastructure, troubleshooting Microsoft, Active Directory, and Windows/Linux operating systems, and resolving logged calls. Requirements & Qualifications

• Three-year tertiary qualification in IT at NQF level 6 and/or equivalent qualifications.
• 2-4 years’ experience in IT Support or applicable to the relevant discipline.
• Driver’s license.
• Knowledge of information and communication technology, infrastructure technologies, and configurations software requirements.
• Knowledge of network operating systems, memory management, and integration.
• Knowledge of methods, tools, equipment and material used in computer equipment testing, repair and maintenance.
• Good troubleshooting capabilities and experience in supporting Microsoft.
• Knowledge of Active Directory and Windows/Linux Operating systems.
• Good Communication and interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette, and report writing skills.
• Problem solving skills, project management presentation, and computer skills.
• Team player and self-motivated.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the desktop, laptop, printers and automation function.
• Support the provincial network infrastructure.
• Implementation of software, application, configuration and network changes (Release Management).
• Offer Support for Mobile Devices Connectivity and Peripheral Devices.
• Provide end user support and account management.
• Participate in projects and support audio and visual platform and hardware.
• Test, diagnose, repair, and maintain computing equipment.
• Ensure that all calls logged are resolved within the required time.
• Travel to provide user support.
