FINANCE CLERK (X2 POSTS) Chief Directorate: Traditional Resource Administration

Job Overview

The Chief Directorate: Traditional Resource Administration seeks two Finance Clerks based in Umkhanyakude and Ugu. Candidates require a Senior Certificate/Grade 12 with no prior experience, a valid driver's licence, and knowledge of financial functions, SCM principles, and basic financial systems like PERSAL, BAS, and LOGIS. Responsibilities include rendering financial, payment, and administrative support services to Local Houses of Traditional Leaders and Traditional Councils.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Senior Certificate/Grade 12/NQF Level 4
• No experience required
• Valid driver’s licence
• Knowledge of IsiZulu and African Culture
• Knowledge of administrative processes and financial/accounting functions
• Ability to capture data, operate computer and collate financial statistics
• Knowledge of SCM principles, Treasury Regulations, Public Finance Management Act, Traditional and Khoi-San Leadership Act, Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, and Labour Relations Act
• Knowledge of basic financial operating systems (PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS)
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Good computer literacy in MS Office

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Render accounting services to the Local House of Traditional Leaders and Traditional Councils in the district
• Render financial services
• Render payment services for Traditional Councils and Local Houses
• Render administrative and financial support to Traditional Councils and Local Houses
• Render administrative support on trust accounts
• Provide support with the management of assets of Traditional Councils and Local Houses
