SCM PRACTITIONER: TRADITIONAL ASSETS ADMINISTRATION

Job Overview

A vacancy exists for an SCM Practitioner: Traditional Assets Administration at the Chief Directorate: Financial Management in Pietermaritzburg. The role requires a Grade 12 certificate, a valid driver's licence, and at least 3 years of experience in asset management. Responsibilities include financial reconciliations of the asset register, supporting stock takes, facilitating loss control procedures using the LOCO system, and exercising control over human resources. Candidates must possess knowledge of the PFMA, Treasury regulations, and relevant public service legislation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Senior Certificate/ Grade 12/ NQF Level 4
• Minimum of 3 years asset management (SCM) experience
• Valid driver's licence
• Sound knowledge of Supply Chain Management
• Sound knowledge of PFMA, Treasury regulations, SCM prescripts
• Functional knowledge of assets management
• Knowledge of Public Service Act, Public Service Regulation, and Basic Conditions of Employment Act
• Numeracy skills, report writing skills, listening skills, and interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills (verbal & written)
• Intermediate computer literacy (MS Word, Excel)

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure an asset administration service in respect of traditional assets
• Undertake financial reconciliations (including adjusting entries) of the asset register with the general ledger and financial statement
• Ensure support during traditional institutions stock takes
• Facilitate the loss control procedure and effect correct journal entries on the LOCO system
• Exercise control of human resources
