ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST: INFRASTRUCTURE FOR EDUCATION FACILITIES AND OTHER DEPARTMENTS (X2 POSTS)

Job Overview

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking two Engineering Technologists to manage infrastructure for education facilities and other departments based in Bhisho. Candidates must hold a National Senior Certificate, a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (B Tech) or relevant qualification, at least three years of post-qualification experience, a valid driver's license, and compulsory registration with ECSA as an Engineering Technologist. Responsibilities include engineering design and analysis, maintenance strategy execution, governance, financial management, and people management. Requirements & Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate
• Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (B Tech) or relevant qualification
• Three (3) years post-qualification Engineering Technologist experience
• A valid driver's license
• Compulsory registration with ECSA as an Engineer Technologist

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform final review and approvals or audits on new engineering designs according to design principles or theory
• Co-ordinate design efforts and integration across disciplines to ensure seamless integration with current technology
• Pioneer new engineering services and management methods
• Manage the execution of maintenance strategy through the provision of appropriate structures, systems and resources
• Set engineering maintenance standards, specifications and service levels according to organisational objectives
• Allocate, control, monitor and report on all resources and compile risk logs
• Provide technical consulting services for the operation on engineering-related matters to minimize possible engineering risks
• Manage and implement knowledge sharing initiatives in support of individual development plans
• Ensure availability and management of funds to meet MTEF objectives within the engineering environment
• Manage the development, motivation and utilisation of human resources for the discipline
