Job Overview

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a Control Architectural Technologist for Infrastructure Delivery for Health Facilities based in Bhisho. The position offers a salary of R958 776 per annum (OSD). Requirements include a National Senior Certificate, B Tech in Architecture or relevant qualification, 6 years post-qualification experience, a valid driver's license, and compulsory SACAP registration. Responsibilities encompass managing technological advisory services, leading design processes, ensuring safety standards, quality assurance of technical designs, administrative functions, and research and development.

Requirements & Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate
• Bachelor of Technology in Architecture (B Tech) or relevant qualification
• Six (6) years of post-qualification Architectural Technologist experience
• A valid driver's license
• Compulsory registration with SACAP as an Architectural Technologist
• Competencies in Project Management, Problem solving and analysis, Decision making, Team leadership, Creativity, Change management, financial management, Customer focus and responsiveness, Communication, Computer skills, Planning and organizing, and People management

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage technological advisory services including site surveying, measured drawings, collecting practical project information, and preparing presentation drawings and models
• Manage and lead the design process, landscape design, and preparation of working drawings as legal instructions for building contractors
• Ensure adherence and promotion of safety standards in line with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Solve broadly defined technological challenges through proven techniques and procedures
• Monitor and evaluate technological designs, technical manuals, and standard drawings to incorporate new technology
• Ensure quality assurance of technical designs with specifications and make recommendations for approval
• Manage administrative functions including budgeting input, reporting, operational planning, database maintenance, and personnel supervision
• Conduct research and development, continuous professional development, and liaise with relevant bodies and councils
