DIRECTOR: INTERNAL OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE SUPPORT (ATE)

Job Overview

The National Treasury is hiring a Director: Internal Operations Executive Support (ATE) based in Pretoria within the Office of the Director-General. The role requires a Grade 12 certificate, an NQF Level 7 Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Management, or Project Management, and at least 5 years of middle/senior managerial experience. Key responsibilities include strategic support, administrative oversight, stakeholder engagement, financial management, and policy analysis in compliance with legislation such as the PFMA.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Grade 12 certificate
• A minimum Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to NQF level 7) in Public Administration, Management, or Project Management
• A minimum of 5 years of experience at a middle/senior managerial level obtained in management and facilitation of programmes
• Knowledge of the Public Service Policy Framework
• In-depth knowledge and experience of the operational environment of an executive office
• Knowledge and experience of policy analysis and interpretation
• Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme as endorsed by the National School of Government prior to finalisation of appointment

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate the effectiveness of meetings pertaining to EXCO and assist with logistical arrangements
• Provide advice pertaining to concerns addressed in submissions relating to Programme 1 departmental matters and fast-tracking explanatory submissions for approval
• Monitor progress and confirm completion by divisions of required activities as directed by the DG in respect of Programme 1 matters
• Coordinate and assist on outstanding Programme 1 related strategic deliverables and progress on divisional strategic objectives
• Manage stakeholder engagement pertaining to concerns and queries for resolution and provide feedback on Programme 1 matters
• Coordinate the management information system in respect of Programme 1 matters in compliance with financial governance needs
• Assist with the coordination of projects for execution
• Draft memoranda, submissions, and correspondence for approval relating to Programme 1
• Perform secretariat responsibilities for senior management meetings and follow-up on outstanding plans
• Coordinate the preparation, proofreading, and quality control of documents
• Exercise oversight on the document management and electronic filing system for Programme 1 matters
• Coordinate logistics around corporate functions, conferences, and management meetings
• Liaise with all spheres of government, public entities, and private sector organisations
• Comply with relevant legislation frameworks including the PFMA and Public Service Act, and manage the budget
• Initiate research and stay abreast of policies, procedures, and due processes in compliance with legislation
