DEPUTY DIRECTOR: PROVINCIAL MOVEABLE ASSET

Job Overview

KZN Provincial Treasury is hiring a Deputy Director: Provincial Moveable Asset based in Pietermaritzburg with an all-inclusive salary package of R932 292 per annum. Applicants must hold an NQF Level 7 degree in Financial Management, Accounting, or Commerce with Accounting 3 as a major, alongside at least 3 years of junior management experience in accounting, asset management, or inventory management. Key responsibilities include monitoring asset management frameworks, providing technical advice, and managing sub-directorate resources.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A 3-year NQF Level 7 Degree or higher qualification in Financial Management / Accounting / Commerce with accounting 3 as a major subject.
• A minimum of 3 years experience of junior management in an accounting, or asset management, or inventory management environment.
• Valid Driver’s license (People with disabilities without valid driver’s licenses will be assisted by the department to meet work related travel obligations).
• Knowledge of applicable national and provincial policies and legislation including Public Finance Management Act, MTEF, Treasury Regulations, and Public Service Act 1994.
• Knowledge of Accounting Frameworks related to asset inventory and management, Modified Cash Standard (MCS), GRAP, or IFRS.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor the development and the implementation of asset management frameworks, Governance and Compliance within Provincial Department and Public Entities.
• Ensure implementation, Monitoring and the improvement of asset and inventory management.
• Ensure the provisioning of guidance and technical advice on asset and inventory management.
• Ensure capacitation and stakeholder management on Asset and Inventory Management.
• Manage the resources of the Sub-directorate.
