DEPUTY DIRECTOR: MEDICAL PAYMENTS

Job Overview

The Compensation Fund in Pretoria is hiring a Deputy Director: Medical Payments (Ref No: HR5/1/2/3/21) with an all-inclusive salary of R932 292 per annum. Requirements include an NQF Level 6 qualification in fields such as Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or Health-related qualifications, along with 5 years of experience including 3 years at junior management level. Requirements & Qualifications

• Undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) as recognized by SAQA in Accounting, Finance, Informatics, Auditing, Internal Auditing, Business Management (or Administration), Operations Management, or a Health related qualification (Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy).
• 5 years’ functional experience in financial services / medical payments / claims processing environment.
• 3 years of experience at an Assistant Director/Junior management level.
• Knowledge of Compensation Fund business strategies and goals, COIDA, technical knowledge, operations systems, Fund Governance and Risk Management, Budgeting and Financial Management, Customer service (Batho Pele Principles), relevant stakeholders, and medical related legislation.
• Knowledge of PFMA and National Treasury Regulations.
• Skills in communication, business report writing, decision making, conflict management, financial management, people and performance management, team leadership, analyzing and interpreting information, medical bill reviewing, medical policy management, medical aid knowledge, project management, clinical coding, quality assurance, and stakeholder management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the processing of finalizing medical invoices and litigations.
• Develop and review policies, strategies, guidelines and operational plans.
• Manage and monitor medical payments to prevent wasteful expenditure.
• Monitor and provide technical support to Provinces and medical service providers.
• Manage all the resources in the sub-directorate.
