Job Overview

A Deputy Director: IT Audits position is available in Pretoria with a salary of R932 292 per annum (Reference: Q1/D//2026). The role requires an NQF level 7 qualification in Auditing, Internal Auditing, or Information System Audit, along with a CISA certification and 3-5 years of junior management experience. Key responsibilities include developing rolling audit plans, managing IT audits in line with IIA and ISACA standards, compiling audit reports, coordinating Audit Committee activities, and managing human resources.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A qualification at NQF level 7, as recognised by SAQA, in Auditing, Internal Auditing, Information System Audit
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification
• 3-5 years’ experience at junior management level
• Knowledge and understanding of IT platforms, processes, systems, and controls
• Knowledge of IT and information security management, policy, frameworks and standards such as ISO, SANS, COBIT, ITIL, SOX, PCI Compliance, ISACA standards
• Knowledge of Public Service Act and Regulations, PFMA, and IIA standards
• Knowledge in the use of Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS)

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop the three-year rolling plan including an annual internal audit plan and maintain the Internal Audit Methodology
• Manage and conduct the planning of IT audits in accordance with IIA and ISACA standards, professional ethics and relevant regulatory frameworks
• Manage and supervise fieldwork of IT audit projects in line with the Internal Audit Methodology
• Compile and manage the delivery of quality audit reports
• Coordinate and manage the Audit Committee activities
• Conduct assessments on the implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions
• Manage human resources in line with HR management, labour relations, and performance management policies
