DEPUTY DIRECTOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

Job Overview

The Department requires a Deputy Director for Project Management and Quality Assurance based in Pretoria (Gauteng) within the Chief Directorate: Internal Audit. This is a permanent management position offering an all-inclusive MMS package of R932 292 per annum. Applicants must possess a Grade 12 certificate, a National Diploma in Auditing or Accounting (NQF Level 6), and at least 3 years of junior management experience in internal audit project management and quality assurance, alongside a valid driver's licence. Key responsibilities include managing quality assurance reviews, audit methodologies, risk registers, electronic auditing software systems, and providing secretariat services to the audit committee.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate
• National Diploma in Auditing or Accounting (NQF Level 6) or relevant related qualification
• Minimum of 3 years of junior management experience in the internal audit project management and quality assurance field
• A valid driver's licence
• Job related knowledge of project management best practice and The Standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors
• Job related skills including verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving ability, project management, computer literacy, financial management, and risk and control assessment
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate the compilation of the strategic and operational plans for approval of the Chief Audit Executive (CAE)
• Monitor and report to the CAE on the implementation of project plans to achieve strategic and operational targets monthly
• Co-ordinate the compilation of internal audit operational and process risk registers for sign-off by the CAE
• Manage the development, review, and updating of methodologies, policies, and procedures in line with IIA and ACFE professional standards
• Provide training and continuous support to all internal audit staff on improved methodologies, policies, procedures, and the Teammate system
• Manage the performance of Quality Assurance reviews on annual internal audit plan projects, internal quality assessments, and five-yearly external quality assessments
• Manage the secretariat function of monthly progress meetings and create and manage projects on the Electronic Auditing Software system
• Manage the compilation of annual ENE and MTEF budgets, financial reconciliations, monthly cash flow, and expenditure deviation reports
• Perform the audit committee secretariat function, including compiling minutes, managing written communication, and handling logistical arrangements
