DEPUTY DIRECTOR: FINANCE

Job Overview

A Deputy Director: Finance position is available at Sekhukhune District with a salary of R932 292 per annum (Level 11). Candidates must possess a Grade 12 certificate and an NQF Level 7 qualification recognised by SAQA in Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Asset Management, along with five years of relevant finance experience, including three years at a junior management level. A valid driver's licence is required (except for applicants with disabilities). Key responsibilities include budget management, acquisition services, logistics and asset management, revenue collection, salary and expenditure administration, and human resource management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric
• NQF level 07 qualification recognised by SAQA in Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Asset Management
• Five years of relevant experience in Finance
• Three years of experience at junior Management level (Assistant Director / ASD)
• Valid driver’s licence (with the exception of applicants with disabilities)

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the district budget, financial planning, financial reporting, and cash flow monitoring
• Monitor compliance with financial prescripts and provide advice on forecasting methods and tools
• Facilitate roll-overs and virement processes
• Provide acquisition services, compile procurement plans, and manage bid committees
• Oversee the bidding process including compilation, publishing, receipt, and processing of bid documents
• Manage prospective providers, terms of reference, and supplier databases
• Provide logistics and asset management services, including inventory policies and stock-taking
• Manage revenue collection, cashier, banking, and debt management services
• Manage salaries, accounts, expenditure, and financial accounting services including ledgers, journals, and financial statements
• Manage human, financial, and equipment resources, including staff performance, discipline, and development
