CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER GRADE A: INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAMME DELIVERY

Job Overview

The Mpumalanga Department of Health is seeking a Construction Project Manager Grade A for Infrastructure Programme Delivery based at the Provincial Office in Mbombela (Nelspruit). Candidates require an NQF Level 7 in the Built Environment, active registration with SACPCMP, and at least three years of post-qualification experience. Responsibilities include infrastructure planning in line with IDMS, implementation, monitoring, commissioning, evaluation, and research on new construction technologies.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Senior Certificate / Grade 12
• NQF Level 7 qualification in Built Environment Field as recognized by SAQA
• Three (3) years post qualification experience as a Professional Construction Project Manager with South African Council for Project and Management Professions (SACPCMP)
• Compulsory three (3) years experience as a registered professional with SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager
• Current registration with SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager
• A valid driver's licence
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of Construction Industry Development Board Act of 2000 and Regulations
• Knowledge of PFMA, Division of Revenue Act, Treasury Regulations, Practice Notes, Instructions, Circulars, and Construction Procurement System
• Knowledge of Provincial/Departmental Supply Chain Management Policies
• Knowledge of Promotion of Access to Information Act of 2000 and Promotion of Administrative Justice Act of 2000
• Knowledge of Expanded Public Works Programme, Broad Based Black Empowerment Act of 2003, and Preferential Procurement Act
• Knowledge of Architectural, Engineering, and Quantity Surveying Profession Acts
• Knowledge of National Building Standards Act of 1977, GIAMA of 2007, OHSA of 1993, and NEMA of 1998
• Knowledge of Project and Construction Management Professions Act of 2000, Health Act 61 of 2003, and ISO standards
• Familiarity with different types and forms of construction contracts and CIDB Construction Procurement Standards

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Programme and Project Planning in line with IDMS
• Infrastructure Programme and Project Implementation and Monitoring
• Infrastructure Project Commissioning
• Infrastructure Programme and Project Evaluation
• Conduct research and literature studies to keep up with new technologies, viability, and feasibility of geographical information management options
• Interact with relevant professional development boards and councils
