Job Overview

The Department of Health in Mpumalanga is seeking a Chief Quantity Surveyor Grade A based at the Provincial Office in Mbombela (Nelspruit). The successful candidate will manage infrastructure programme and project planning, implementation, monitoring, commissioning, and evaluation in line with IDMS. Key responsibilities include resource and financial management, infrastructure research, and stakeholder interaction. Applicants must possess an NQF Level 7 in Quantity Surveying, 6 years of post-qualification experience, 6 years as a registered professional, current SACQSP registration, a valid driver's licence, and computer literacy.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Senior Certificate / Grade 12
• NQF Level 7 qualification in Quantity Surveying recognized by SAQA
• Six (6) years post-qualification experience
• Compulsory six (6) years experience as a registered professional
• Current registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) as a Quantity Surveyor
• A valid driver's licence
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of Construction Industry Development Board Act of 2000 and Regulations
• Knowledge of PFMA, Division of Revenue Act, Treasury Regulations, Practice Notes, Instructions, Circulars, and Construction Procurement System
• Knowledge of Provincial/Departmental Supply Chain Management Policies
• Knowledge of Promotion of Access to Information Act and Promotion of Administrative Justice Act
• Knowledge of Expanded Public Works Programme and Broad Based Black Empowerment Act
• Knowledge of Preferential Procurement Act, Architectural Profession Act, Engineering Profession Act, and Quantity Surveying Profession Act
• Knowledge of National Building Standards Act, Government Immovable Asset Management Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Knowledge of Project and Construction Management Professions Act, Health Act, National Environmental Management Act, and relevant Provincial Land Administration Legislation
• Knowledge of ISO standards, various construction contracts, and CIDB Construction Procurement Standards
