ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT

Job Overview

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) is seeking an Assistant Director: Business Process Management based in Bhisho. The role requires an undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in Industrial Engineering, Management Services, Public Management, or a related field, alongside 3 to 5 years of relevant supervisory experience in Organizational Development. Key duties involve providing business efficiency enhancement services, conducting process improvement initiatives, and assessing departmental effectiveness. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, report-writing skills, and proficiency in MS Visio.

Requirements & Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate
• An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) / Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Management Services, Work-study, Industrial Psychology, Production Management, Operations Management, or Public Management
• Three to Five (3-5) years of relevant supervisory experience in an Organizational Development, Business Process Management, Change Management, and Service Delivery Initiatives environment
• In-depth knowledge of Business Process Management frameworks, 2015 Directive on changes to Organizational Structure, and applicable legislation and standards (including PFMA, Public Service Act and Regulations, Treasury guidelines, Change Management Framework, and Organizational Design Toolkit)
• Proficiency in using MS Visio for mapping business processes and computer literacy
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced report writing and presentation skills
• Research skills
• Valid Code 08 (EB) driver’s license
• Must have worked in the Organizational Development field

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide business efficiency enhancement services
• Facilitate and conduct business process improvement initiatives
• Conduct organisational functionality assessments of department’s internal systems and processes
• Conduct an assessment of the department’s effectiveness and efficiency in supporting the attainment of service delivery objectives
• Facilitate the implementation of a productivity measurement framework
