ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER: TRANSPORT POLICIES AND STRATEGIES

Job Overview

The Western Cape Government's Mobility Department is hiring an Administrative Officer for Transport Policies and Strategies based in the Western Cape. The role involves rendering line administrative support services to the Transversal Transport Forum, coordinating administrative management control activities, supporting meetings and workshops, managing project resources, and conducting research. Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 1-year administrative support experience
• Knowledge of legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices relevant to line functions
• Ability to use information systems that support the management of knowledge and information
• Knowledge of Public Transport and Public Service administration legislation
• Knowledge of Public Service, Provincial and Departmental strategies, policies and prescripts
• Understanding of the Provincial Growth and Development Strategy and Provincial Land Transport Framework
• Proficiency in relevant software packages and computer programmes
• Ability to perform basic human capital and financial administration
• Skills in general office administration, database management, and records management
• Knowledge of project coordination, procurement, and tendering processes
• Understanding of Constitutional, legal, and institutional arrangements governing the South African public sector
• Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury Regulations, and Provincial Treasury Instructions

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Render line administrative support services to the Transversal Transport Forum
• Co-ordinate administrative management control activities
• Provide support to meetings, planning sessions, and workshops
• Manage Programme/Project-related resources
• Conduct research and development
