ACCOUNTING CLERK: ASSURANCE SERVICES

Job Overview

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government is hiring an Accounting Clerk: Assurance Services at Salary Level 05 (R237 453 - R279 708 per annum). Requirements include a Grade 12 certificate, knowledge of financial functions, Public Service financial legislation (PFMA, DORA, PSA, PSR, PPPFA), and systems like PERSAL, BAS, and LOGIS. Duties involve clerical support for assurance, governance, fraud and losses management, general administration in the Internal Control unit, financial accounting, salary administration, bookkeeping, and budget support. Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
• Basic knowledge of financial functions, practices, data capture, computer operation, and financial statistics collation.
• Insight into Public Service financial legislations, procedures, and Treasury regulations including PFMA, DORA, PSA, PSR, PPPFA, and Financial Manual.
• Knowledge of financial operating systems: PERSAL, BAS, and LOGIS.
• Skills in numeracy, literacy, language, computer operations, planning and organisation.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform routine tasks and operate office equipment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Render clerical support services with regard to assurance services, and governance, fraud and losses management services.
• Perform general administrative tasks within the Internal Control unit.
• Perform Financial Accounting and Salary Administration support services.
• Perform bookkeeping and budget support services.
