Job Overview

George Regional Hospital is hiring Staff Nurses Grade 1 to 3 for Paeds Ground and Paeds OPD under the Chief Directorate: Rural Health Services. Candidates require a qualification allowing SANC registration as a Staff Nurse, with varying experience requirements from none for Grade 1 up to 20 years for Grade 3. Responsibilities include providing basic clinical nursing care, developing patient care implementation, and effectively utilizing resources. Shift work, night duty, and rotation are required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse.
• Registration with the SANC as Staff Nurse.
• Grade 1: None.
• Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Staff Nurse.
• Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Staff Nurse.
• Required to work shifts, night duty, weekends, public holidays as well as overtime.
• Expected to rotate within the hospital.
• Knowledge of nursing processes & procedures as outlined in Nursing Act and SANC regulations.
• Training competencies include Aseptic technique and Wound dressing.
• Basic pharmacology and mathematical skills to do calculation re dosages in medication.
• Basic principles of Health education.
• Knowledge of the nursing Care Process and medical legal hazards.
• Professionalism, good interpersonal communication skills, and leadership skills.
