SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER: SAFETY PLANNING

Job Overview

The Western Cape Government's Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety is hiring a Senior Administrative Officer for Safety Planning (Ref No: POCS 14/2026). This Level 08 position offers a salary of R413 001 - R486 501 per annum. Candidates must possess an NQF level 6 qualification or higher and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Key duties include providing office records and information management support, administrative and research support for the Policing Needs and Priorities programme, advocacy support, and managerial functions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A qualification at NQF level 6 (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
• Working knowledge and understanding of legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices bearing on line functions
• Knowledge of information systems for knowledge and information management
• Knowledge of project management and operational management practices
• Knowledge of procurement and tendering processes
• Knowledge of policy development, operational management, monitoring and review processes
• Understanding of public service procedures, processes and systems
• Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National and Provincial Treasury Regulations, and financial policies
• Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strategic planning, facilitation, problem-solving, and report writing skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide support in terms of office records, and information management activities to support effective service delivery
• Provide administrative, research and project implementation support for the Policing Needs and Priorities programme in the Western Cape
• Provide support with advocacy activities related to the Policing Needs and Priorities Programme
• Perform managerial and supervisory functions
