Job Overview

The Western Cape Government, Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, is seeking a Deputy Director: Project Implementation 2 (Ref No: POCS 11/2026). Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 3 years middle management experience
• Working knowledge of legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices relevant to line functions
• Knowledge of project management, operational management practices, and procurement and tendering processes
• Understanding of Public Finance Management Act, National and Provincial Treasury Regulations, and financial policies
• Competency in modern systems of governance, administration, and public service procedures
• Skills in numeracy, computer literacy, language, project management, accounting/finance/audit, analytical and strategic thinking
• Skills in conflict resolution, monitoring, evaluation and reporting, presentation, problem solving, research, and networking

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and facilitate the initiation, implementation and monitoring of safety programmes, services and partnership initiatives according to the Western Cape Strategic Framework (safety plans)
• Manage stakeholder relationships for the support and effective functioning of safety partnerships
• Plan and manage the work of and account for the overall performance of the Sub-directorate
• Manage records and information
• Perform people management duties
• Perform financial management duties
