SECURITY SUPERVISORS (X3 POSTS)

Job Overview

The Office of the Chief Justice is hiring three Security Supervisors (Level 05) stationed at the Gauteng Division of the High Court in Pretoria (X2) and Johannesburg (X1). Candidates must possess a Grade 12 certificate, at least one year of relevant experience, and a Grade B PSIRA certificate. Responsibilities include supervising security personnel, managing control room operations, monitoring access control, and ensuring compliance with security policies and legislation such as the OHS Act.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in the relevant field
• Grade B PSIRA certificate
• Valid driver's license (added advantage)
• Knowledge of access control procedures, equipment and store movement control
• Knowledge of prescribed security procedures (MIS, NISA, Protection of Information Act)
• Knowledge of relevant emergency procedures, Security Policy and Procedures, Access to Public Premises and Vehicle Act, and OHS Act 85 of 1993
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Supervisory, problem-solving, decision making, interpersonal relations, listening, planning and organising skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise security functions performed by security officers and service providers
• Authorise equipment, documents, and stores entering or leaving the building or premises
• Inspect and report all non-functioning security measures such as X-Ray machines, metal detectors, and security lights
• Check incidents and occurrence books/registers
• Monitor and provide support in case of emergencies
• Monitor outcomes and institute corrective measures to address deviations from norms and standards
• Monitor access control to prevent unauthorised entry
• Identify risks and threats to department security
• Provide information regarding incidents to investigating officers and conduct preliminary incident investigations
• Report faulty equipment/systems and ensure optimal functioning through scheduled services
• Monitor and respond to alarm systems and administer control room operations
• Review footage upon request and update incident registers
• Determine rosters, shift schedules, and overtime
• Control leave and related personnel matters in line with HR procedures
• Administer key control systems, monitor employee performance, and determine training needs
