Job Overview

Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services is hiring five Professional Nurses (General Nursing: PHC) across Morning Star, Fisantekraal, Bellville South, and Symphony Way CDCs. Positions span Grades 1 to 3 with salaries ranging from R337,359 to R495,423 per annum. Requirements include a nursing diploma or degree, SANC registration, and relevant nursing experience ranging from 0 to 20+ years depending on the grade. Responsibilities involve providing comprehensive primary healthcare nursing care, supervising staff, and managing resources.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as Professional Nurse.
• Or a 4-year bachelor's degree in nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• Grade 1 Experience: None after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
• Grade 2 Experience: Minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse.
• Grade 3 Experience: Minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse.
• Willingness to work after hours.
• Knowledge of grievance procedure and disciplinary legislation.
• Knowledge and understanding of nursing Code of Ethics and Professional Practice of the SANC.
• Computer literate in MS Office (Excel, Word and Power point) and MS Outlook.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of quality comprehensive nursing care within the Primary Health Care context.
• Maintain ethical practice within legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Maintain a constructive working relationship with all relevant stakeholders of the Primary Health Care Team.
• Utilize human, material and physical resources efficiently and effectively.
• Participate in training programmes and research activities.
• Maintain workplace disciplinary of sub-ordinates.
