PERSAL CONTROLLER: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Job Overview

A vacancy exists for a PERSAL Controller: Financial Management at Level 09 based in Mbombela. The role requires an NQF Level 6 qualification in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field, alongside a minimum of 3 years of experience with financial systems. Candidates must have passed the PERSAL Controllers Course and possess deep knowledge of PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS, the Public Financial Management Act, and Treasury regulations. Key responsibilities include managing user profiles, facilitating training, monitoring audit reports, signing RACEF reports, and representing the department on the provincial PERSAL forum.

Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma in Accounting/Financial Management (NQF Level 6) or Financial related Field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in financial systems
• Computer literacy
• Must have passed the PERSAL Controllers Course
• Extensive knowledge of the functionality and capabilities of the PERSAL System
• Knowledge of Public Financial Management Act
• Knowledge of Basic Accounting System (BAS) and other financial systems (LOGIS, PERSAL, etc.)

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Register and maintain PERSAL user profile
• Register PERSAL user and revisers, ensure orientation and maintain profile through selective allocation of functions
• Facilitate the training of PERSAL users in the Department
• Signing of monthly RACEF reports and examining of daily RACEF Report
• Reset revoked users and restore their access to the salary system when authorised
• Develop, review and maintain policy, procedures and best practices pertaining to PERSAL user and system management
• Represent the Department on the provincial PERSAL forum
• Regularly monitor the audit and control reports available on PERSAL
