Job Overview

The Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services is seeking qualified Oral Hygienists (Grade 1-3) to work at Lotus River CDC, Retreat CHC, and Lady Michaelis CDC. Candidates must be registered with the HPCSA and possess a valid driver's licence. The role involves patient assessment, treatment, administrative tasks, and community outreach. Applicants must demonstrate strong communication, report writing, and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of PFMA and Ideal Clinic policies. Candidates will undergo written, practical, and oral assessments. Enquiries can be directed to the respective facility managers.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Appropriate qualification allowing for registration with the HPCSA as an Oral Hygienist.
• Current registration with the HPCSA as an Oral Hygienist.
• Grade 1: No experience required for RSA qualified; 1 year for foreign qualified.
• Grade 2: Minimum 10 years' experience for SA qualified; 11 years for foreign qualified.
• Grade 3: Minimum 20 years' experience for SA qualified; 21 years for foreign qualified.
• Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Knowledge of PFMA, Ideal Clinic, and relevant health policies/protocols.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Report writing, analytic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Assessment and treatment of patients.
• Adherence to relevant policies and SOPs within the Oral Hygienist field.
• Performance of administrative duties.
• Development of objectives and action plans for the area of work.
• Provision of outreach services to Schools, ECDs, and Stakeholders.
