Job Overview

St Margaret’s CHC (Riverside Clinic) in Umzimkhulu is hiring an Operational Manager Nursing (Specialty Unit - PHC) under reference SMCHC 01/2026. The position offers an annual salary of R720 821 to R821 454 plus allowances. Applicants must possess a Grade 12 certificate, registration with SANC as a General Nurse, a basic R425 nursing qualification, a post-basic qualification in Primary Health Care, NIMART training, a computer certificate, a driver's license, and at least 9 years of nursing experience including 5 years post-PHC qualification experience. Duties include supervising integrated primary healthcare services, managing TB/HIV programs, and ensuring adherence to Batho Pele principles. Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) standard 10 or Vocational National Certificate
• Registration with SANC as a General Nurse with a current receipt/license to practice for 2026
• Basic R425 qualification (Degree/Diploma in Nursing) allowing registration as a Professional Nurse
• Post-basic qualification in Primary Health Care, Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Cure with a duration of at least one year, accredited by SANC
• Minimum of 9 years appropriate experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwifery with SANC in General Nursing
• At least 5 years of recognizable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in Primary Health Care
• Experience in TB/HIV/AIDS management, accompanied by an HIV/AIDS Certificate or Diploma
• Valid Driver's License
• Computer Certificate / Computer skills
• NIMART Training
• Thorough knowledge and insight of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statuses and relevant legal frameworks (Nursing Act, Health Act, OHSA, Patients Right Charter, Batho Pele Principles)

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall supervision of an integrated quality and comprehensive primary health care services delivery to the community
• Improve health outcomes by focusing on health prevention, health promotion, curative and rehabilitative approaches through policy implementation, guidelines, and SOPs
• Ensure PITC and adherence counselling is provided to clients in the facility
• Promote advocacy, disclosure, and adherence to treatment and care ensuring compliance with Batho Pele Principles
• Ensure provision of primary prevention strategies and integrated screening of TB, HIV, COVID-19, NCDs, STIs, and Mental Health
• Ensure availability of medication, essential equipment, and supplies, as well as proper utilization thereof
• Participate in the realization and maintenance of the ideal clinic program (ICRM) to comply with norms and standards according to OHSC
• Ensure data management is implemented and monitored
• Ensure communication and collaboration with other stakeholders is improved through OSS interventions
• Maintain intersectoral collaborations with other government structures
• Participate in monitoring HR performance through EPMDS
