Job Overview

An Operational Manager Nursing PHC Grade 1 position is available at Kwa-Magwaza District Hospital (Nogajuka Clinic) under reference KH 01/2026. The role requires a Grade 12 certificate, a basic R425 qualification in General Nursing and Midwifery, a post-basic qualification in Primary Health Care, current SANC registration, and at least 9 years of nursing experience with 5 years in PHC. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive PHC services, managing facility plans, implementing quality improvement programs, and resource monitoring. Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12/ Senior Certificate
• Basic R425 qualification (Diploma / Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery)
• One (1) year post-basic nursing qualification in Clinic Nursing Science Health Assessment, Treatment and Care (PHC)
• Current registration with SANC as General Nurse, Midwife/Accoucheur and Primary Health Care
• Minimum of nine (09) years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing
• At least five (5) years must be appropriate/recognizable PHC experience after obtaining a one (1) year post-basic qualification in PHC
• In-depth knowledge of nursing legislation, related legal and ethical nursing practices, public service policies and other health-related prescripts
• Knowledge of quality norms and standards as directed by Negotiated Service Delivery Agreement, OHSC and ICRM prescripts, patient Right Charter and Batho Pele Principle
• Leadership, organizing, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provision of comprehensive package of services at Primary Health Care level
• Develop, implement and monitor facility plans and submit progress reports
• Implement quality improvement programs that work towards achieving Universal Health Coverage as stipulated in the National Health Act
• Effective utilization and monitoring of resources in line with cost containment plans
• Effectively implement PHC Re-engineering strategy
• Implement Employment Performance Management and Development System
• Manage and utilize data to improve service delivery and health outcomes
• Implement and monitor Department projects, including special projects in line with the health calendar
• Conduct clinical audits of priority programs with the aim to improve health care services
