Job Overview

The Waterberg District Office in Modimolle and Vhembe District is hiring two Network Controllers at Salary Level 07. Requirements include Grade 12, an NQF 6 in IT, A+ and N+ or MCSE, appropriate networking training, 1-2 years IT experience, and a valid driver's license. Responsibilities encompass LAN/WAN management, hardware and software support, helpdesk operations, and SITA liaison.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate
• NQF 6 qualification in Information Technology or equivalent as recognised by SAQA
• Appropriate training in Computer networking
• A+ and N+ or MCSE certification
• Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years’ working experience in Information Technology field
• Valid driver’s license (with exception of persons with disability)
• Knowledge of Microsoft programmes and networking concepts
• Skills in report writing, information security, and procurement procedures
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot desktop environments, third-party software, and network printers

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage local area network cabling projects and maintenance and repairs of network points
• Rectification of WAN faults by liaison with external stakeholders such as SITA
• Provide first level support of transversal systems
• Manage and maintain repairs of hardware and update machines with the latest software
• Assist with the compilation of software and hardware specifications and manage user profiles on the network
• Manage the software update and antivirus server
• Maintain physical components, file server setup, and management
• Assist in the formulation of technical support operating policies regarding emergency action, back-up, data protection, and management reports
• Operate helpdesk and ensure maximum productivity through speedy and accurate response to user problems
• Keep and maintain records and statistics of hardware, support information, network infrastructure, and media
