Job Overview

The Provincial Office in Limpopo is seeking a Medical Officer Grade 1. The role requires an MBCHB degree, 10 years of functional medical experience, and HPCSA registration. Responsibilities include managing medical advisory services for COID, monitoring healthcare, processing medical claims, supporting medical service providers, and overseeing subdirectorate resources. Requirements & Qualifications

• MBCHB degree
• 10 years of functional experience in the medical environment
• Assessment of medical / disability claims will be an added advantage
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
• Knowledge of medical-related legislation and regulatory knowledge, medical aid knowledge (case management), Compensation Fund policies, procedures, processes, compliance management, risk management, and fund governance
• Knowledge of budgeting and financial management, customer services (Batho Pele Principles), technical knowledge, medical anatomy, medical terminology, and AMA guidelines application
• Knowledge of Public Service Act, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury regulations, Preferential Procurement Policy Framework, Promotion of Access to Information Act, and Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI)
• Skills in medical policy management, occupational health knowledge, clinical excellence and advisory, project management and planning, and information analysis and interpretation
• Skills in digital acumen / medical systems, clinical risk mitigation, clinical coding, quality assurance and improvement, research and benchmarking, stakeholder development and management, negotiation, consensus, and coalition building

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage medical advisory services for all COID services
• Manage and monitor healthcare
• Manage medical claims processing
• Manage and provide support to medical service providers
• Manage all resources in the subdirectorate
