Job Overview

Head Office in Cape Town is seeking five Laundry Aids (Post 35/309) within Facility Management for Laundry Services. Candidates require basic literacy and numeracy skills, appropriate central laundry and linen experience, and physical fitness for manual labor. Duties involve washing, drying, folding, ironing, handling chemical mixing, operating washing and drying machines, and sorting linen.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience: Appropriate Laundry and Linen experience in a Central Laundry setting.
• Inherent requirement of the job: Physically fit to do manual labour.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Washing, drying, folding and ironing.
• Assist with the mixing of chemicals.
• Load and unload washing machines and tumble dryers.
• Monitor quality of work.
• Empty soiled linen bags for sorting, counting, sealing and stacking of linen bags for dispatching.
• Assist with the preparation of linen for the ironers and folding area.
• Keep work area clean.
