Job Overview

The Cape Winelands Health District is hiring a Laundry Aid at Robertson Hospital, Langeberg Sub-district. Responsibilities include providing a professional linen service, ensuring effective stock control, maintaining safe working areas, and performing heavy physical tasks such as pushing trolleys and loading 25kg+ linen bags. Requirements include basic literacy and numeracy, appropriate laundry experience, physical fitness, communication skills, a valid driver's licence, and knowledge of stock and infection control. Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy minimum educational qualification.
• Appropriate experience in general laundry functions.
• Willingness to work overtime, e.g. after-working hours, weekends and public holidays when operational needs require.
• Physically fit and able to hear and speak clearly.
• Ability to perform hard physical tasks, e.g. pushing heavy linen trolleys to and from the linen bank and wards.
• Ability to load and offload heavy linen bags 25kg+ between facilities and Central Laundry.
• Drivers licence to transport linen to central laundry.
• Ability to sort, sluice and count dirty and fouled linen.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of stock and infection control.
