ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (PRODUCTION) GRADE A: PROGRAMME DELIVERY

Job Overview

The Provincial Office in Mbombela (Nelspruit) is hiring an Electrical Engineer (Production) Grade A for Programme Delivery. Requirements include an NQF Level 7 in Engineering, at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, a valid driver's licence, computer literacy, and current ECSA registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer. Responsibilities involve developing engineering norms and standards, investigating service delivery mechanisms, designing and inspecting electrical installations, overseeing construction, and conducting research on new technologies while adhering to relevant legislation like the PFMA and OHS Act.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Senior Certificate / Grade 12
• NQF Level 7 qualification in Engineering as recognized by SAQA
• A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
• Current registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Electrical Engineer
• A valid driver's licence
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Practice Notes, Instructions, and Circulars
• Knowledge of Provincial / Departmental Supply Chain Management Policies
• Knowledge of National Building Standards Act of 1977 and Regulations
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993 and Regulations
• Knowledge of Government Immovable Asset Management Act of 2007
• Knowledge of Health Act and Regulations
• Knowledge of Engineering Profession Act of 2000

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Development, interpretation and customisation of functional and technical norms and standards from an engineering perspective
• Investigate proposals for innovative service delivery mechanisms and undertake feasibility studies
• Compile briefing documentation and specifications from an engineering perspective
• Investigate electronic and electrical engineering installations and equipment, undertake design work and implement corrective measures
• Oversee implementation (construction) and commissioning of electrical engineering installations
• Conduct research and literature studies to keep up with new technologies, viability and feasibility of geographical information management options
• Interact with relevant professional development boards and councils
