DRIVER: GENERAL ADMINISTRATION (BRACKENFELL)

Job Overview

The Western Cape Mobility Department is hiring a Driver: General Administration based in Brackenfell (Reference: WCMD 37/2026). The position offers a salary between R144 024 and R169 656 per annum (Level 02). Requirements include a Grade 10 qualification or minimum 7 months relevant experience, and a valid code B or higher driving licence. Duties involve providing transport for staff and students, messenger services, and supporting vehicle maintenance.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 10 qualification or a minimum of 7 months relevant experience
• A valid code B (or higher) driving license
• Knowledge of vehicle operating procedures, trip authorities, and logbooks
• Knowledge of vehicle utilization and storage prescripts
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures
• Must be physically fit and able to move heavy equipment, load and off-load goods and motorcycles
• Knowledge on how to safely secure motorcycles when being transported
• Computer literacy and language skills
• Planning and organisation skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Customer care and creative thinking skills
• Willingness to work irregular hours and meet tight deadlines

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide a transport service for staff and students at the Gene Louw Traffic College
• Provide a messenger service within the Directorate
• Render support to the Transport Officer with the maintenance and cleaning of official vehicles in the Directorate
• Perform ad hoc tasks
