DEPUTY DIRECTOR: SPORT AND RECREATION

Job Overview

The Gauteng Department is hiring a Deputy Director: Sport and Recreation based in the North Corridor (Ref: REFS/056610) with an all-inclusive salary of R932 292 per annum (Level 11). Candidates must possess a Grade 12 certificate, an NQF level 6/7 qualification in Sports Science or related fields, and 3-5 years of supervisory and middle management experience alongside a valid driver's licence. Responsibilities include policy development, managing sports and recreation programmes, talent identification, school sports, and resource management. Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate
• National Diploma or Degree (NQF level 6/7) in Sports and Recreation, Sports Science, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sports Development, Sports Administration, or a relevant qualification
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience at a supervisory level
• Relevant experience in middle management (ASD) level
• Relevant experience in a sport and recreation environment
• Valid driver’s licence

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the development of policies, business plans, strategies, and procedures for sports implementation
• Manage the promotion of mass participation among learners, promote healthy lifestyles, and inculcate sportsmanship and competitiveness
• Manage the provision of sport development and talent identification in the corridors
• Manage the provision of sport and community recreation programmes in the corridor
• Manage the provision of the school sport programme in the corridor
• Manage human, financial, equipment, and asset resources, including budget control and monitoring
