Job Overview

Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services seeks two Dental Specialists in Prosthodontics (5/8th post) at the Oral Health Centre in Tygerberg/Mitchells Plain. Candidates require an appropriate qualification allowing HPCSA registration as a Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics, with varying experience requirements for Grades 1 to 3. Duties include rendering prosthodontic services, clinical education and training of students, research, and administrative support. A valid driver's license and computer literacy are required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics
• Registration with the HPCSA as Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics
• Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics
• Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as Dental Specialist after registration with the HPCSA
• Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as Dental Specialist after registration with the HPCSA
• A valid driver's license (Code B/EB)
• Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team
• Good computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide related HR and Administrative support to the Prosthodontic Department
• Participate in operational research activities as directed in a team or self-initiated research
• Render prosthodontic services on the MPOHC and TBOHC platforms
• Provide clinical education and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students
