DATA CAPTURE (MIS)

Job Overview

Maluti TVET College is hiring a Data Capture (MIS) for a 12-month council-paid contract at its Main Campus in Bethlehem. The position offers R201 093 per annum (Level 04). Applicants must possess an NQF level 4 or 5 (Grade 12 or equivalent) or NCV Level 4 qualification, along with relevant computer literacy, data capturing, and information management knowledge. Responsibilities include capturing student data, exam marks, and registrations, maintaining system integrity, and handling student records. Requirements & Qualifications

• NQF level 4 or 5 (A grade 12 certificate or equivalent) or NCV Level 4.
• Knowledge of data capturing.
• Knowledge of computer literacy.
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management.
• Knowledge, understanding, application and interpretation of office management, COLTECH, data warehouse and IT prescripts.
• Knowledge of Skills Development Act, Public Service Regulations, Public Service Act, and Labour Relations Act.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Capture data from available records into required formats such as systems, databases, tables, and spreadsheets.
• Capture student registration, receipt of payment, and issue student numbers.
• Capture ICES, ISAT, and final marks, as well as enrolment forms during registration periods.
• Capture marks on the system and submit them to the EMIS Officer.
• Capture student absentees on the system.
• Verify and query missing data and errors observed during data entry to ensure data integrity.
• Courier external papers to DHET.
• Review and validate all data from records.
• Complete mark sheet hard copies and make copies to be used as attendance registers in exam venues.
• Receive marks from HODs and mark sheets/timetables from DHET.
• Update registers, statistics, and system records, and make regular backups of data.
• Submit data and deliver mark sheets to lecturers in marking venues.
• Issue proof of registration, student cards, statements of results, and certificates.
• Keep, maintain, sort, secure, and file student records alphabetically for each registration period.
• Provide information to components, email schedule of results to campus heads, HODs, and senior lecturers, and retrieve results for dissemination.
