CLINICAL PROGRAMME COORDINATOR: COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH SERVICES (X2 POSTS) Overberg District

Job Overview

Two vacancies for Clinical Programme Coordinator: Comprehensive Health Services exist within the Overberg District at Grabouw CHC and Theewaterskloof Sub-district. Candidates must possess a nursing diploma/degree, registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse, and at least 7 years of appropriate experience. Responsibilities include coordinating chronic, rehabilitation, eye care, mental health, and HAST services, monitoring programme goals, and supporting primary health care and community-based services.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• OR A 4-year bachelor’s degree in nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in general nursing.
• Valid (Code B/EB/C1) driver’s license.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to function/make decisions independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Good interpersonal relations, exceptional leadership and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of all relevant public service regulations and policies.
• Understanding the District Health System and Primary Health Care.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation, coordination, governance, monitoring and evaluation of the Sub-District District Chronic, rehabilitation, eyecare, mental health, HAST and Community Based services and strategies.
• Support the implementation of Mental health, rehab, eye care, chronic health, infectious diseases and HIV/AIDS/STI/TB services.
• Monitor and evaluate programme goals and targets including the collection, validation and interpretation of statistical data.
• Involvement in training/capacity building programmes to develop skills and roll out training to support implementation.
• Effective implementation of appropriate projects to improve the integrated primary health care services in the sub-district.
• Ensure quality patient care through professional and technical support to funded Community Based Services (CBS) Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) programmes.
• Coordinate and support Sub-district personnel with health activities in Primary Health Care facilities and in non-health sites.
