Job Overview

Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services seeks two Clinical Programme Coordinators for comprehensive health programmes. The role requires a basic nursing diploma/degree or 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing, active SANC registration as a Professional Nurse, and at least 7 years of appropriate nursing experience. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating integrated health services, clinical governance, data management, stakeholder collaboration, and staff capacity building. A valid driver's license and strong computer literacy are required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse, OR a 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• A minimum of seven (7) years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
• Valid (Code B/EB) driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge and ability to interpret and implement regulations, policies and guidelines.
• Good interpersonal, collaborative, co-ordination, and facilitation skills.
• Understanding the District Health System.
• Project Management skills.
• Data management, analysis and interpretation abilities.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Report-writing skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Effective planning, co-ordination, and Implementation of integrated Comprehensive Health Programmes/Services, including Maternal, Women, Child, Adolescent Health, Nutrition, School Health, HIV/AIDS/STI/TB/VMMC Services, mental health and chronic disease services.
• Provide co-ordination and service implementation support for the management of notifiable medical conditions, disease surveillance, and outbreak response in line with policies and guidelines.
• Provide clinical governance support, support the implementation of policies and guidelines.
• Provide technical and service implementation support for community-based and wellness services.
• Strengthen the implementation of Community-Orientated Primary Care.
• Strengthen the collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support NPO contract management.
• Monitoring and evaluation of key performance indicators, service delivery targets.
• Ensure effective data management across programmes.
• Promote and support continuous quality improvement initiatives across all programmes to ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide technical support, training and mentorship to ensure staff capacity building.
