Job Overview

Two vacancies for Clinical Nurse Practitioner Grade 1 to 2 (Primary Health Care) are available at Kwanokuthula CDC, Knysna/Bitou Sub District in the Garden Route District. Salary ranges from R495 423 to R607 350 per annum. Requirements include registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse, relevant post-basic qualifications in Clinical Nursing Science or Primary Care Nursing, and appropriate nursing experience. Responsibilities include managing disease burdens, providing PHC services, health promotion, and assisting with facility management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care, accredited with the SANC (R48). OR A 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• A post graduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Primary Care Nursing.
• Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• Grade 1 Experience: A Minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
• Grade 2 Experience: A Minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing, with at least 10 years after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification or post-graduate diploma.
• Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed and drive a mobile clinic vehicle.
• NIMART training or experience.
• Good communication skills verbal and written, problem solving, report writing, liaison and facilitation skills.
• Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of the Burden of disease according to comprehensive health programmes.
• Plan and implement Health Promotion and Prevention activities in facility and community.
• Link to community structures and NPO’s.
• Collect data and submit reports.
• Provide Primary Health Care (PHC) services to surrounding communities.
• Assist with the managing of Human Resources, Finance, SCM, Strategy and Health support, Infrastructure and equipment management.
