CLINICAL NURSE PRACTITIONER

Job Overview

Vryheid District Hospital is hiring a Clinical Nurse Practitioner (Grade 1 or Grade 2) for Mondlo 2 Clinic. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive Primary Health Care, managing medical stock, supervising nursing staff, conducting clinical audits, and maintaining patient records. Requirements include a relevant nursing degree/diploma, post-basic qualification in Clinical Nursing Science, SANC registration, and appropriate years of experience. Requirements & Qualifications

• Appropriate Bachelor Degree / National Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or equivalent qualification allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse
• Post-basic qualification of at least 1 year in Curative Skills in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with SANC
• Registration certificates with SANC as a General Nurse, Midwifery, and Clinical Nursing Science
• Current SANC receipt
• Certificate of service from current and previous employers stamped and signed by the HR Department
• Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing
• Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing, with at least 10 years after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in the relevant specialty
• Knowledge of applicable legislations such as Nursing Acts, Mental Acts, OH & S Act, Batho Pele Principles, Patient's Rights Charter, and Labour Relations Act

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide quality, comprehensive Primary Health Care including promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services
• Ensure proper utilization and safekeeping of basic medical equipment, surgical and pharmaceutical stock
• Assist in the orientation, induction, and monitoring of all nursing staff, providing direct and indirect supervision and guidance
• Provide nursing care upholding principles of Batho Pele to improve health service delivery
• Assist with conducting clinical audits and developing quality improvement plans
• Improve staff and patient knowledge through health education and in-service training
• Maintain constructive working relationships with nursing and other stakeholders, implementing the Integrated Multi Stakeholder Health Promotion Strategy
• Manage patient records in both written and electronic formats
• Ensure collection, collation, and timeous submission of accurate verified data
• Support the realization and maintenance of Ideal Clinic and OHSC Programme in the facility
