CLINICAL NURSE PRACTITIONER

Job Overview

Vryheid District Hospital is hiring a Clinical Nurse Practitioner (Grade 1 or Grade 2) for Thembumusa Clinic. Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive Primary Health Care services, supervising nursing staff, managing medical stock, conducting clinical audits, and supporting the Ideal Clinic programme. Candidates must hold a degree or diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery, a post-basic qualification in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care, and active SANC registration, along with appropriate nursing experience. Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate B degree/National Diploma in General nursing and Midwifery or equivalent qualification allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• Post-basic qualification with a duration of at least 1 year in Curative Skills in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with SANC.
• Registration certificates with SANC as a General Nurse, Midwifery, and Clinical Nursing Science.
• Current SANC receipt.
• Certificate of service from current and previous employers stamped and signed by the HR Department.
• Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
• Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing, with at least 10 years after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in the relevant specialty.
• Knowledge of applicable legislation including Nursing Act, Mental Health Act, OH&S Act, Batho Pele Principles, Patient's Rights Charter, Labour Relations Act, and Grievance procedure.
• Strong leadership, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, conflict handling, and counseling skills.
• Good listening, communication, coordination, planning, team building, and supervisory skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide quality, comprehensive Primary Health Care including promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services.
• Ensure proper utilization and safekeeping of basic medical equipment, surgical, and pharmaceutical stock.
• Assist in the orientation, induction, and monitoring of all nursing staff, providing direct and indirect supervision and guidance.
• Provide nursing care leading to improved health service delivery by upholding principles of Batho Pele.
• Assist with conducting clinical audits and developing quality improvement plans.
• Improve the knowledge of staff and patients through health education and in-service training.
• Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders and implement the Integrated Multi Stakeholder Health Promotion Strategy.
• Manage patient records in both written and electronic formats.
• Ensure the collection, collation, and timeous submission of accurate verified data.
• Support the realization and maintenance of Ideal Clinic and OHSC Programmes in the facility.
