CHIEF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER PRODUCTION GRADE A

Job Overview

The Department of Human Settlements seeks a Chief Construction Project Manager Production Grade A in the Amathole Region (East London). The role requires an NQF level 7 in Built Environment, six years of experience, and compulsory registration with SACPCMP. Responsibilities include managing project initiation, planning, implementation, and close-out stages, as well as resource and contract management. The salary is R1 317 108 per annum (OSD). Requirements & Qualifications

• Matric/ National Senior Certificate/ NQF level 4
• NQF level 7 in Built environment as recognised by SAQA
• Six (06) years’ experience as a registered Professional Construction Project Manager with SACPCMP
• Compulsory registration with the SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager on appointment
• Knowledge of Human Settlements policies and legislative frameworks
• Knowledge of built environment standards, CIDP regulations, financial and contract management, stakeholder and community engagement
• Good communication skills, project management skills, presentation skills, report writing skills, negotiation, facilitation, analytical and critical thinking, conflict management
• Ability to work in a team
• Computer literate
• Must possess a valid driver’s licence

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage Project Initiation and Feasibility processes including needs analysis, funding requests, and PSP appointments
• Manage Project Planning, Design and Procurement processes including contractor appointments and regulatory compliance
• Manage project implementation stage including site handovers, construction monitoring, and progress reporting
• Manage project close-out stage including expenditure validation and project close-out file presentation
• Manage allocated resources, employee performance, job descriptions, and staff development
• Manage communication, asset management, and attend to Internal Audit and Auditor General’s RFIs
