Job Overview

An Assistant Manager Nursing position in Maternal Health (PNA7) is available at the Corporate Office in Bloemfontein. The salary ranges from R720,819 to R846,282 per annum plus benefits. Candidates must possess a basic R425 nursing qualification, a post-graduate qualification in Health Care Management or Nursing Administration, current SANC registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwife, and a minimum of 8 years nursing experience, including 3 years at a management level. A valid driver's licence is required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in nursing) or 4-year Bachelor's Degree in nursing (R174)
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife
• Post-graduate qualification in Health Care Management or Nursing Administration
• Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse
• Minimum of 8 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse
• At least 3 years of the experience must be at management level
• Recognizable experience in maternal health/perinatal care
• Valid driver's licence
• Knowledge and skills to monitor and analyse morbidity and mortality trends in maternal and perinatal care

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the provision of effective and efficient patient care through adequate health care
• Initiate and participate in health promotion and ensure consistent communication of relevant, accurate and comprehensive information on health care
• Develop, establish and maintain constructive working relationships with relevant stakeholders including inter-professional, intersectoral and multi-disciplinary teams
• Participate in the analysis, formulation and implementation of health guidelines, practices, standards and procedures
• Manage and ensure effective utilization of resources
