ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: MONITORING AND REPORTING

Job Overview

The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government, is hiring an Assistant Director: Monitoring and Reporting (Level 09). Applicants require a 3-year B-Degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include developing performance monitoring and reporting processes, maintaining performance indicators, monitoring service delivery improvement plans, facilitating the MPAT process, and supporting Provincial Project Management and Information systems (BizSuite). The role requires strong policy analysis, project management, and communication skills.

Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
• Knowledge of applicable policies, legislation, guidelines, standards, procedures and best practices
• Knowledge of Public Service procedures
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and standards
• Knowledge of global, regional and local political, economic and social affairs impacting on the Western Cape Government
• Skills in interpreting and applying relevant policies and procedures
• Problem solving and facilitation skills
• Presentation, policy formulation and analysis skills
• Monitoring and evaluation skills
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Organising and information/knowledge management skills
• Dispute resolution and conflict management skills
• Interpersonal relationships and analytical thinking skills
• Ability to analyse, conceptualise and implement policy, and conduct research

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Departmental performance monitoring and reporting processes
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of performance indicators and monitoring frameworks
• Monitor the implementation of the service delivery improvement plans (SDIPs)
• Facilitate the Department's MPAT process
• Provide support and guidance in the management of Provincial Project Management and Information systems (BizSuite: BizProjects, BizPerformance, BizBrain)
