ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: INVESTMENT PROMOTION

Job Overview

The Department of Tourism is seeking an Assistant Director: Investment Promotion based in Pretoria. The role requires an NQF 6 qualification in Economics, International Relations, Business, or Development Studies, alongside 4 years of experience in investment facilitation and promotion (with 2 years at a senior practitioner level). Responsibilities include managing investment portfolios, conducting market analysis, facilitating public-private partnerships, and promoting foreign and local direct investment. Requirements & Qualifications

• A recognised NQF 6 qualification in Economics, International Relations, Business studies, Development Studies or related qualifications.
• Four (4) years’ experience in Investment Facilitation and Promotion of which two (2) years must be at a Senior practitioner level or equivalent.
• Experience in Tourism and Hospitality will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of Tourism management and development, Economic environment, Investment environment, Project management, Stakeholder management, and Financial management.
• Computer literacy.
• Interpersonal skills, client orientation, written and verbal communication, and planning and organising skills.
• A valid driver’s licence (Persons with disabilities that prevent them from driving will still be considered).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Assisting in compiling an investment project portfolio.
• Assisting in developing strategy and manage investment promotion.
• Enhancing brand recognition and promote products or services.
• Assisting in developing new products or services, or discontinuing them, or decisions on related research and development programs.
• Conducting market investment analysis.
• Advising on foreign direct investment.
• Assisting in developing and promoting local direct investment.
• Assisting in the identification, packaging and marketing of potential investment opportunities, and the identification of potential investors.
• Providing general information on the investment and domestic business climate, and offers dedicated aftercare services to investor.
• Facilitating and manage strategic funding partnerships.
• Facilitating public-private partnership agreements.
• Coordinating a risk assessment to determine material risks.
• Coordinating the selection, prioritization, development and management of new or renewed partnerships.
