Job Overview

The Western Cape Mobility Department is seeking an Assistant Director: Internal Control (Inspections) in the Western Cape. Candidates require an appropriate 3-year B-Degree or higher qualification alongside a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an internal control and governance environment. Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in an internal control and governance working environment
• Knowledge and understanding of the Public Audit Act, 2004
• Knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act, 1999
• Knowledge of National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Instructions and guidelines
• Knowledge of Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, 2004
• Knowledge of Public Service Anti-Corruption Strategy and anti-corruption and fraud prevention measures
• Knowledge of Protected Disclosure Act, 2000
• Knowledge of Government Accounting Standards (Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP))
• Knowledge of internal control tools and techniques
• Knowledge of Government financial systems and departmental policies and procedures
• Knowledge of Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, 2000 and Regulations
• Skills in Numeracy, Computer Literacy, Language, and Project Management
• Skills in Accounting, Finance and Audit, Planning, and Analytical thinking
• Skills in Report-writing, Communication, Presentation, Inter-personal relations, Problem solving, and Supervisory tasks

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure proper governance with regard to internal control
• Ensure the rendering of assurance services
• Ensure the implementation of internal control inspection measures to ensure compliance to financial administration
• Perform managerial functions
